The NRC Tells USA Citizens to Eff Off and Just Absorb the Risk and Radiation

stock here: They use Fukuhsima as a justification for not taking proper risk control.

Jebus
Not sure if anyone caught this, but the NRC recently told everyone to fuck off and just deal with the risk.

NRC Notice:

In the Matter of All Operating Reactor Licensees With Mark I and Mark II Containments
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued a director's decision with regard to a petition dated July 29, 2011, filed by Mr. David Lochbaum, Director for Nuclear Safety Project of Union of Concerned Scientists (the petitioner), requesting that the NRC take action with regard to all operating General Electric (GE) boiling-water reactor (BWR) licensees with Mark I and Mark II primary containment designs.

The Director of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation denies the petition because the NRC staff has reasonable assurance that the design and operation of SFP cooling systems for BWRs with Mark I and II containment designs provide adequate assurance of public health and safety and satisfy current regulations.

The concern associated with development of harsh environmental conditions following a beyond-design-basis event that induces a sustained loss of spent fuel pool forced cooling was resolved through the issuance of orders and implementing guidance associated with the lesson-learned as a result of the Fukushima Dai-ichi accident.

Attempts at self preservation, will be ignored…

  4. Lochbaum was at NRC after TMI to carry out the regulatory racheting. Fool me once shame on you... fool me twice...

The NRC didn't tell the American people to f*ck off. Just Lochbaum. And throw in Lyman for good measures.

  5. This is goofy. However the Queen Rat seems to want to validate creation science with the notion that solar flare activity affects radioactivity of Cs137.

  7. And examine them very closely
You will see what I talk about. Examine the plant layouts, the topology, the system integration. Note also the location of backup power relative to any potential single train failure. I helped design 3 of these reactor sites when I was a young engineering intern. Note also these sites have had impeccable safety and oversight.

  9. When the exposure of radiation exceeds permissible levels, the food may become unpalatable.

This would explain for the last two years my favorite coffee Eight O'clock Colombian whole bean has no flavor, also experienced this with several different brands. I've experienced Cantaloupe, Watermelon and Grapes on several occasions that I might as well have been eating a water balloon. Just today talking to the neighbor he mentioned he went out to breakfast and the melon served tasted only of water.

Stock, your findings on Chitin is a great study. Unfortunately this structure found in shell and fungi will have already been reduced in the properties to absorb more radiation, unless planted to grow or harvest from virgin shell. It was naturally found in the cooling tower at Chernobyl, the Black Fungus. Bentonite Clay is buried under the ground minimizing the exposure and ready to go to work. By the time we wittiness people shopping and testing food for radiation count with a Geiger, it's too late. Here in the States, Wyoming has the largest Bentonite Clay mining in the world at 70% and with that the Dry Bulk Indices (cargo shipping) hit an historic low on Feb 10th this year. Many ships are anchored with nothing to fill the holds. We need to close the books on radiation fallout studies (times ticking) and fill the ships with clay. Because like in the movie Poltergeist; "They're Here" (meaning the radiation)

Ya know something, I have an old saying "Fu*k Me? Fu*k You! now what?" and it's the what, like you Stock and many around the world have been working on. We can help to reduce half-life, it's always been here just like in Chitin! Now it's just a process of combinations I've spoke of and in your findings to start spreading it on fields, coastal waters, every lake, pond, river and stream.

I also found out from a conversation with a medical doctor that they're just starting to understand negative ions; small world.

GOD'S speed to everything that walks, crawls, slithers, swims, flies and grows.

    1. Permissible limits have several orders of magnitude safety margin built in. It's a fallacy to think that just because any limit is exceeded doesn't mean it's dangerous by default. The analogy is an off ramp speed limit. If it says 25 mph, 26 isn't necessarily dangerous. Margins are added and the models used to derive those limits are very conservative. There is absolutely nothing going on. It's pure delusional. This is Fukushima legacy - more fear.

    4. It's built on misperceptions from Chernobyl, which you did mention. I think you understand where I am coming from. Also the chitin evaluation is pure bunk. No validation there as well. When people start connecting dots based on fact and not fiction, then the discussion can move forward. As long as antinukes practice junk science, and side with their "indepdents" ala Busby without questioning their motives and methods then the planet will continue to suffer. It starts with science educationews early on and the right way. You have Queen Rat over there espousing hocum and she doesn't even know it. A sort of cognitive bias of the worse kind
I'm not saying I'm right you're wrong. I'm saying prove and validate which no one has done on your end
The tactic used by ratfarmers is to inundate unsuspecting lay people with bafflegab like tatal etc. No sale.

    5. ala Busby that's good, I mean that you made me laugh. OK validation, it's even been considered to filling the foundation with clay before pouring concrete for a nuclear facility, to help with adsorption of a failed core. The real problem unfortunately we have accidents and a waste dilemma. What other materials and elements could possibly be used? because everything comes down to cost. To make both sides happy and/or comfortable this is moving the discussion forward. Science is even looking at Dipole Magnetic Field for Spacecraft to shield from cosmic radiation. So these properties on and around the planet have been here before humans, that's what we've learn from, that's what we use. We apply these properties to the nuclear industry but once again liability breaks this down, the cost. Going to have to do something, any ideas?

    6. Waste is only waste if you don't recycle. What other industry do you know only uses 1/20th of the resource? The idea is proliferant-free actinide recycle and reactors that are meltdown proof. The way to do this is to use molten salt fuel. No need to worry about meltdowns because that's the operating state. Chop up some LWR used fuel and throw it in the reactor by design. It's called WAMSR- waste actinide MSR. Think it's a pipe dream? It started as an idea at MIT and China is building one. You can spend infinite amounts of time in political morass over nimbyism or you can fission all the actinides to be destroyed forever in a proliferrant free format. Don't tell Lyman and Von Hippel about it. They'll find a way to wrongly label it proliferant tech.

    7. The only industry that comes to mind when reusing resource is 'waste to energy' a well-established source of energy in Sweden. The first incineration plant started operation during the later part of the 1940s. They actually purchase garbage from other countries. Back to Nuclear, thanks for your input, we really need to clean up waste sites. I live in Illinois we're the largest waste site in the country. I have read about WAMSR and wounded why it was not used earlier, what I don't know will it still produce weapons grade plutonium? Another break through is removing americium from the waste to avoid heat build up, but once again that's only one element. Another concern is the tritium the ultimate element hacker removing an element of hydrogen from the water and replacing it with it's own becoming water! Well Loose time will tell but for certain we have clean up to do and like Sweden burning it works. You know what's fu*ked up? such a small world and we get divide on several levels, we all can work together, if not, Mars is not appealing to me.

    8. Mark from mars, got a ring to it. Amazing though....we all know the planet is toast, and now its important for the powers that be to play the "don't worry, pay your taxes, slave away.....we have a future option planet."

      NOT!

    9. Correspondence came in yesterday: "Yes, the radiation in the food is real. I met Japanese in Bali who left the island because when people’s personal Geiger counters were showing levels way higher than the government reported, the government outlawed Geiger counters. They also shame people when they won’t let their kids eat foods from the Fukushima area. They are putting it in government school lunches! They don’t want the economy to collapse. Denial is an amazing thing." (end report)

My favorite coffee is like drinking hot water!

    10. Geiger counters don't tell the isotopes, particle, or the origin of the source. It could be that radioactivity existed beforehand and all they measure is baseline. Fact of the matter ocean seafood not adversely impacted as more natural radiation in Ocean before 311. 311 adds maybe 0.00001% additional. That's like you giving a buck to the national debt. It's a trivial amount to get all worked up over. All commercial nuclear contributes a trivial amount.

    11. "All worked up over", tell that to the fella who pulled his family from Japan and moved to Bali, I don't think you yourself could get him to move back. Japan is experiencing the worst failure of a nuclear facility. The caution came when governments allowed an increase to radiation exposure from the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980. Today this limit eclipse’s EPA’s long-established levels. The next shot in the foot was when Japan went on State lock down of this disaster. Loose, you or I did not start this shit storm. In history to come to pass, junk science will be refereed to as a theory in nuclear of this time, with no process for failed cores and waste management.
